Firmware revisions
Lomak and Notesai keyboards can be upgraded to the latest firmware with all features described in these User Guides.
Upgrading your firmwareYour Lomak (or Notesai) is a programmable device and has its own internal microprocessor which works very hard for you.
The microprocessor's program controls all keyboard and mouse communication with the host computer. This program is called firmware, because it is software held in an electronic memory which can be reprogrammed.
Additionally, the firmware is field reprogrammable, that is, the keyboard does not have to be returned to the supplier for upgrading, but can be upgraded by people who have been trained to do this task. Please contact your sales agent for advice and further instructions.
Lomak keyboards are fitted with circuit board revisions as follows (most recent first):
- Rev5 keyboards have Serial Numbers starting at K79. They operate with Rev5 firmware from v3.6 and above.
- Rev4 keyboards have Serial Numbers between K24 and K78 inclusive. They operate with Rev4 firmware from v3.3 and above.
- Rev2 keyboards have Serial Numbers between K1 and K23 inclusive. They operate with Rev2 firmware from v3.0 and above. Keyboards prior to v3.3 need to be returned to Opdo Limited for upgrading.
The serial number is printed on the top sticker affixed to the back of the keyboard.

The Device Instance Id is a string similar to the ones below—if you do not see such a string, you are looking at the wrong device, so click Cancel and select another USB Composite Device.
Typical strings are:
- USB\VID_1451&PID_0320\V3.6_(C)2006
- USB\VID_1451&PID_0320\REV5_V4.1_(C)2006
- USB\VID_1451&PID_0320\REV5_V4.2_(C)2006_LOMAK
The firmware version is prior to the copyright year, e.g. V3.6, V4.1, V4.2 in the above examples.
From v4.1 onwards, the string also reports the hardware revision number of the keyboard’s PCB, e.g. REV5 in the above examples.
